The accessible MuBoma

Our main objective is to be a museum for everyone, a space accessible to all people, where reduced mobility is not an obstacle. It should be taken into account that the historic building is located in an area of the city next to the river, so an attempt has been made to create an access ramp that allows access to the river.

We are also working to eliminate barriers in access to information so that the museum can be a real agent of social inclusion. We will gradually implement all the necessary improvements.

Physical accessibility

MuBoma has been designed without architectural barriers to overcome, bridging the difference in floors through an elevator.

Toilets are wheelchair accessible.

The Museum has a free wheelchair available to visitors upon request to facilitate the tour.

The museum has seating and rest areas throughout the tour. For more specific needs, please contact the museum staff.

Disabled people’s vehicles may have access to the door of the Museum, upon request 48 hours before the visit, by calling 965544418 or sending an e-mail to [email protected]. An adapted parking space is available inside the enclosure.

Language accessibility

The Museum is multilingual in all the information distributed throughout the tour. The posters, videos and room texts are written in Spanish, Valencian and English. You will also find a booklet with the French translation at the reception desk.

Cognitive accessibility

Guided tours can be adapted to different cognitive levels for people with intellectual disabilities. Reservations are always for groups and must be made 15 days in advance.

Visual accessibility

The Museum’s elevators are signposted in Braille and high relief.

It should be taken into account that the exhibition itself and the conservation needs of the type of collections it houses (textiles, leather, etc.) require a low level of lighting in the rooms.

Guided tours can be adapted to a group of visually impaired people with different tactile stations that allow them to get to know the exhibition through a unique experience. Reservations will always be for limited groups and must be made 15 days in advance.
